Share Stretch marks in the postpartum: a key moment to treat them

During pregnancy the skin can stretch up to ten times more than its usual surface. Due to hormonal factors and poor hydration of the skin, when distended, the skin fibers break and appear scars known as stretch marks.

Hydrate the skin inside

During postpartum, the goal is to firm the skin and restore elasticity. For this, not only do you have to help the skin maintain a good hydration on the outside with creams and oils, but also on the inside, with the help of a good diet .

Choose foods that provide antioxidants that help produce collagen to contribute to the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Choose foods rich in Vitamin A (colored fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meats ...), vitamin C (citrus fruits, kiwis, strawberries, red peppers ...) and vitamin E (vegetable oils, nuts, seeds, leafy vegetables green...)

In general, you should increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables, as well as whole grains and essential fatty acids present in blue fish.

It is also important to drink enough water . You have to follow the recommendation you had during pregnancy to consume at least two liters of water a day. Keep in mind that you also drink liquid from your own food, you must not force the intake of water, but try to reach two liters a day.

Choose the most suitable products

We can find in the market a good battery of specific products to recover the firmness of the skin after childbirth.

As with the rest of the body, you should always keep the skin of the breasts well moisturized, or with the products mentioned above as with specific creams for the area, trying to clean the areola before each feeding of your baby.

Postpartum is a key moment to treat stretch marks of pregnancy, so it is important to be constant to keep the skin always hydrated and healing and repairing components act effectively.
